Sullivan Varsity Volleyball came out strong with a sweep, winning 25–21 and 25–22 over a tough Arthur Christian team. Aeralyn Thrasher led the offense with 17 kills, while Lillian Hood added 4 kills, Nevaeh Dovell lead the net defense with 3 blocks. Sullivan Fresh soph and JV also came away with victories on the night.

Devon Richardson's 1st place finish leading the SHS Girls Golf Team to an LPC Championship earned her a nomination for News-Gazette player of the week! Let's get her some votes!

The Sullivan High School Marching Band will be kicking off their competition season next Saturday (10/4) at the Effingham Marching Invitational. They will perform at 12:30 PM. Come out and support these outstanding students!

🕒 Line-Up Begins: 3:00 PM
🚶‍♂️ Parade Step-Off: 4:00 PM
📍 Location: Back parking lot of the high school
🚗 IMPORTANT PARKING & TRAFFIC INFO:
🔹 NO PARKING on Main Street (unless dropping a participant off)
🔹 NO through traffic in the back parking lot during parade setup.
✅ Back Lot Access Is Limited To:
-Vehicles participating in the parade
-Vehicles dropping off participants with mobility issues

🚫 If you're dropping off someone without mobility issues, please:
-Continue north on Main Street, pass the back lot entrance, drop off on the side of the road, then proceed to Worth Street

🅿️ Parade Participant Parking:
If you’re in the parade and need to park, use the grass lot east of the football field.

Devon Richardson wins the LPC Golf meet and Kate Bushue gets 3rd to lead our Lady Redskins golf team to a 3rd straight conference title!

Even with heavy rain and lightning, the show must go on! The Marching Band and Guard rehearsed their halftime show last night in preparation for Homecoming on Friday. They will be performing in the Parade as well as during the Football Game.

The student council spent time after school on Friday getting the halls ready for Homecoming 2025! We hope all students and community members enjoy their week and come out Friday to celebrate at the parade (4pm) and game (7pm).

It's Homecoming Week Redskin Nation!!!

Our Sullivan JV volleyball squad brought home second place at the Windsor/Stew-Stras Tournament today! They won their pool by taking out Neoga in two sets 25–10, 25–14 and following up with a win against St Elmo 25–23, 25–22. They took second to Windsor Stew Stras in the championship 19–25, 16–25.

Our Middle School Band Section of the Week Honors go to the 6th Grade Alto Saxophones and the 7th-8th Grade Clarinets. Our Alto Saxes are rocking the 6th Grade Band by playing confidently and accurately. The 6th Grade has been progressing through their beginning band methods and attempted their first "real" band piece today just to see how they would do.

The 7th-8th Grade Clarinet section have also been wonderful in class this week (and past weeks, too)! They have been working on several potential concert pieces while some members of the band have been preparing for their ILMEA All-District Band auditions. The clarinets and band got the opportunity to play with the high school percussion and read some of the music that fans get to hear at the football home games!
