Thirteen Introduction to Agriculture students applied to receive their own blue jacket as a generous gift from our Sullivan FFA Alumni.
These jackets are delivered with purpose, as gifts from alums who know the potential of where these jackets can take our young leaders. Before they were given out, upperclassmen leaders in our agriculture program wrote individual notes of encouragement to tuck into the jackets.
Many of these jackets will be proudly worn NEXT week at National FFA Convention!
Parents...Just a reminder of TWO early dismissal days next week. Tuesday, October 26th and Thursday, October 28th are Parent/Teacher Conferences. SES will dismiss at 2:20 p.m. and SMS/SHS will dismiss at 2:30 p.m. If you have not signed up for a conference with your child's teacher, please contact the teacher and get one on the books. ALSO...Sullivan Schools will NOT be in session on Friday, October 29th.
Two of our FFA teams had a successful evening last night as we hosted “Super Wednesday” at SHS.
Ag Sales finished 3rd in our section contest with Brett Bushue placing as a high individual!
Greenhand Quiz Bowl placed 5th in our section.
We also had Del Diepholz, John Voyles, & Gareth Coffer exhibit in our Section 16 Grain Fair.
Most importantly, many of our members put in a late evening of work in order to be great hosts for four simultaneous Section 16 FFA events here at SHS. We’re so proud of our competitors and our chapter as a whole for showing up & showcasing great leadership!

8th grade Lady Redskins put another W in the win column defeating Okaw Valley 50 - 11.
7th grade Lady Redskins fall tonight in a close game with Okaw Valley 15-18.
Lady Redskins 7th grade team falls to Mattoon Middle School. The Lady Redskins 8th grade team defeated the Mattoon Middle School team 34 - 14.

Football, Football Cheerleading, and Marching Band/Color Guard Senior Night will be on Friday October 8th. Senior participants and their parents/guardians in Football, Football Cheerleading, and Marching Band/Color Guard will be honored before the football game. Those senior participants and their parents/guardians will need to meet on the south end of the track near the scoreboard at 6:20 PM. Recognition will then begin no later than 6:25 PM.
Senior Day for SHS Cross Country is on Tuesday October 5th at Tabor Park at 4:30 PM. Coach Graham will begin recognizing the senior cross country members and their parents/guardians at 4:15 PM at the pavilion over in Tabor Park prior to the meet beginning at 4:30 PM.

SCHEDULE UPDATE:
SOV JV Football will be hosting Watseka High School in a JV Football game on Friday 10/8 at 7:00 PM at Victory Field as a part of Sullivan's Homecoming. In addition to this, Senior Night for SOV Football, SOV Football Cheer, and SHS Marching Band/Color Guard will also be held on Friday 10/8 prior to the start of the football game. Additional details for this will be shared out as we get closer to the date.
Due to the weather, the CIC Golf Tournament has been postponed today to Thursday 9/23 at 10:00 AM at Moweaqua Golf Course.
Just a reminder...Tomorrow, September 21, 2021 is Picture Day. If you wish to order school pictures, please send in the order form and money with your child. Extra order forms can be picked up in the ES office.
