Congratulations to SMS band and piano students who participated in Solo and Ensemble this past weekend! All students received a division I or II rating on their solos! Students who performed: Johnathan I, Abigail D, Braden W, Ivan M, Lara H, Marissa F, and Carly F.

7th graders in middle school science have been busy designing and building their balloon cars. Race day is tomorrow for most of them.

Here are a few quick announcements for Sullivan Middle School this week:
IAR testing will begin for all students grades 5-8 on Wednesday, March 27th.
The SHS Junior Class is hosting a Neon Dance for all students grades 5-8 on Friday night from 6-8pm in the SHS Commons. Admission is $3 with snacks and drinks available for purchase as well.
The 7th and 8th Grade Spring Dance will be on April 12th.

SMS celebrated the 3rd quarter Breakfast of Champions nominees on Wednesday, March 13th in the SMS Hub. Students were nominated for their positive behaviors in and out of the classroom. Those students nominated were Hailey Biggerstaff, Madalyn Booker, Emily Crosier, Will Dawkins, Connor Denton, Carlyn Fitzgerald, Dirk Lane, Hayden Nohren, Caden Saul and Luke Waelde.


Students in 5th grade science are enjoying testing their knowledge about food chains in this interactive game “Eat or Be Eaten.” #onetribe


Students in 7th grade science used a Playground Physics app to determine if different objects reached terminal velocity when dropped.




Congratulations to the Sullivan Middle School Varsity Scholastic Bowl team for completing a sweep of Shelbyville and Argenta-Oreana in Okaw Junior High Conference scholastic bowl action this afternoon. #OneTribe!

SMS Scholastic Bowl started the season last night with much success! The JV team defeated Meridian but fell short to Maroa. The Varsity team defeated both Meridian and Maroa. Top Scorer for JV was Ryan Lawyer and Varsity was Paul Bates. The team worked well together! #onetribe

Sullivan Middle School held a Survivor Ball tournament this afternoon for the American Heart Association. Here is the winning team sporting some retro Sullivan Redskins warmup shirts! Congratulations, Donovan Collins, Cooper Christiansen, Schafer Ogle, Maddox Bassett, Cameron Crowe, and Mason Booker!

Congratulations to Sullivan Singers Jr. - Grand Champions if the Danville Midwest Classic Show Choir Competition. The group also won the awards for Best Show and Choreography and Best Tech Crew with Trinity Preyer earning First Runner Up honors in the Solo Competition and Best Female Solist in Competition and Ivan Moxley earning Best Male Performer honors. Congratulations to Mr. Wilson and everyone involved in the program on an amazing performance!


SMS is so happy to have received 2,000 pencils from KC Summers in Mattoon. The students and teachers greatly appreciate their generosity! #onetribe


The weather is cold but the party is hot! Middle School Students, there is still time to come join the fun! The party will be going in the Commons until 8pm. Admission is $3 with plenty of snacks available for purchase as well. Proceeds go to the SHS Junior class.
