At last night's Regional Championship game, the IESA handed out sportsmanship pins to an individual from each team. David Ryherd was the recipient from Sullivan! David represented himself, his teammates, and his school with a humble, hardworking, and respectful approach to the game.

The IESA Sportsmanship Pin is awarded throughout the state series to one member from each team in recognition of exemplary sportsmanship. Recipients of this honor consistently display a positive attitude toward teammates, opponents, and officials. They show a commitment to giving their best effort in the game and always maintain respectful conduct towards those around them. Additionally, they exhibit positive body language that uplifts and inspires both teammates and peers. This recognition celebrates athletes who embody the values of sportsmanship and enhance the competitive spirit of the game.

Rehearsal is underway for the inaugural ILMEA All-State Junior High Band in Peoria, Illinois! 8th Grader Miriam Parri is a part of the trombone section, which is comprised of top junior high musicians from around Illinois.

The band will perform in a joint concert with the All-State Chorus and Orchestra at Carver Arena in the Peoria Civic Center on Friday at 6 PM.

IESA 8th Grade Regional (1/29): Here is the adjusted schedule for tomorrow night's 8th Grade Regional. Both the semi-final and championship games will be played tomorrow night at Hillsboro HS. Teams will be dismissed at 2:30 tomorrow for a 2:45 bus departure. Coaches will have sandwiches, chips, and drink for the evening for the cheer and basketball team.

8th Grade Boys Basketball Regional @ Hillsboro HS tomorrow (1/24) vs Meridian starting at approximately 11:15 AM is still on. Be advised - plan to get to the game earlier than normal in case they are running ahead of schedule, they will start earlier if they are running ahead. (First game is at 10 AM) Bus time has been adjusted to 8:30 AM.

**Reminder that this is an IESA event and admission is set at $5 for everyone.**

Our 7th grade team battled hard but fell to a very good Vandalia team in the Regional Championship this evening. This group put together a special season and has a lot to be proud of, finishing with an 18–4 record, a Conference Regular Season Championship, and a Conference Tournament Championship! Their work ethic and commitment were on display all year. The future is bright, and we look forward to watching them continue their journey in 8th grade. We are so proud of you! To celebrate the upcoming Winter Olympic Games, our 6th Grade Band Class completed a series of challenges on their instruments. They competed in categories such as Longest Note, Highest Note, Fastest Note, and Softest Note with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awarded to individual students.

Our Saxophone Section won the overall competition by having the most podium finishes in our challenges.

6th Grade Saxophones claimed the top spot in the 6th Grade Music Games
6th Grade Volleyball Tournament will take place at Stewardson-Strasburg HS on Saturday, January 31st. Sullivan 6th Grade will play their first match of the day starting at 10 AM vs St. Elmo in the JH Gym. Bracket is attached.

**Admission for the tournament is $5 for adults and $3 for students (Passes will not be accepted)**
