Students in Mr. Webb’s 8th grade social studies classes hosted a 1920s speakeasy party on Friday! It was the cat’s pajamas, the bee’s knees, and everything in between! Students were able to dress up, enjoy smooth jazz, board games, snacks, and punch… if they knew the password, of course!
Students in Mr. Webb’s 8th grade social studies classes participated in a 1920s Stock Market Simulation today! Students had the opportunity to “invest” in five different “companies” over an eight-round session. Unfortunately, the Great Crash of 1929 sent most of them home empty handed. It was the perfect segue into tomorrow’s lesson on the Great Depression!

Mae Dawkins was honored this morning at the Illinois Principals Association Student Recognition Breakfast in Springfield. Mae was nominated by Mr. Ogle and the faculty of Sullivan Middle School for her outstanding character and leadership. Mae was joined at the event by Mr. Ogle and her mother, Alice Dawkins. Students in Mr. Webb’s 7th grade social studies classes engaged in a simulation today surrounding the strengths and weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation, our nation’s first Constitution. Students acted as delegates from each of the thirteen states. Problems were posed, debates were had, and solutions were difficult to achieve.

Sullivan Middle School students who logged at least 500 pages for the 3rd quarter Reading Redskins competition celebrated at Building 1225 this afternoon. The rest of the day will filled with activities to celebrate Women's History Month. We are #OneTribe!

The Nets won the Future Redskins Championship last night.
The 5th grade Volleyball team won their tournament this past weekend to end their season with a record of 13-5.
Elin Watkins, Tenley Stollard, and Kiley Grooms led the way in defense and serving ending the tournament with a impressive combined 61 aces. Great job on a fantastic season, ladies! #onetribe
Due to the weather today and additional events on Saturday, the Future Redskins championship game between the Nets and the Warriors has been rescheduled to Tuesday March 1st from 6:00 to 6:45 PM in the SHS gym. Teams should arrive 15 minutes prior to game time.
