Mrs. Seeley’s class recently visited the Okaw Valley Orchard. We saw apples growing on trees, and sampled apples grown at the orchard, as well as other yummy items made from apples. We also saw goats, observed a honey bee display, and enjoyed some exercise on the playground. Funding for this field trip was provided by the Growing in the Garden Project grant through the Lumpkin Family Foundation.

The addition of 5th Grade to the Middle School has been great for science class! 5th graders got to go to the science lab today to test out mixtures and solutions. As an extra treat, they took home a “mixture” of homemade trail mix (which can be separated and is not spread out evenly). This was a great review before our test! 🧪 🧬 🧫 #scienceiscool #onetribe

SMS Girls’ Basketball have their first home game vs. Arcola, Monday, September 30th. For this game only, there will be only two quarters played of the 7th grade game. Therefore, plan on the 8th grade game starting between 6:30-6:45. Come out and see what your SMS Lady Redskins are all about this year! #onetribe

SMS Girls’ Basketball opened up their season tonight in Atwood against Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond. 7th Grade was defeated 26-14. Addison Minor lead the Lady Redskins in scoring with 6 points, Shaylin Hunter had 4 points and Shaelyn Elllis and Emily Miller finished with 2 points. 8th grade comes home with a big win 38-11. Kiley Dyer led the team with 20 points. Bella Harden and Keeliana Norton added 6 points. Dyer and Isabelle Stone led with 7 steals. Norton grabbed 7 rebounds and Harden added 6. Great team effort! Way to go, Lady Redskins! #onetribe

SMS Baseball beats LSA, 15-0, in their first round of the Class 2A IESA Regional game. The Redskins will travel to Macon, on Saturday, where they will play the winning of Warrensburg/Central A&M. Saturday’s game is at noon! Keep pushing, guys! We are proud! #onetribe

SMS Softball ends their season with a 9-4 loss to a tough Meridian team in the Class AA IESA Regional at Macon! We are proud of Coach Tate and the Lady Redskins for a great 2019 season! #onetribe
