Mrs. McClellan and Mrs. Badman chaperoned a group of seniors to EIU’s Booth Library. They were given a full tour of the library, access to the university’s online databases, and the option to check out books. These seniors are currently researching a social issue, and this visit to Booth Library will give them the jump-start they need to get started!

Mrs. McClellan meets with the English classes at the high school approximately once per month and provides creative enrichment activities for students of all grades. Pictured, Mrs. Badman’s juniors are participating in a “Book Tasting,” where books are separated by genre. From there, students select a book, read the information on the back and the first couple pages. Once they do that with 3 different books, students share out information about some of the books they have “tasted,” and they will hopefully walk away with several book choices for now or the future.

Seniors in Mrs Badman’s AP Lang. class celebrated the end of their Great Gatsby unit with a Roaring Twenties party. Students read eulogies, performed different dances, and ate lots of decade-appropriate food while listening to 1920s music. Several administrators and teachers joined the fun.

Sullivan High School is providing a Fan Bus for any SHS student wanting to attend the Girl's Basketball Sectional Championship game Thursday night in Effingham. There is no charge for SHS students to ride the bus. Admission to the game is also covered (no charge to the student). Any student on the bus will also be provided a piece of pizza and drink at the game. Bus will leave at approximately 4:30PM from the high school. Students wanting to ride must be signed up by the end of school on Wednesday. Contact the high school office if you have questions. Let's pack the bus!
