Due to anticipated cold temperatures, the SHS Varsity and JV Baseball games with Casey Westfield scheduled for Saturday 3/26 have been cancelled.

The SHS Softball game scheduled for today 3/25 against Pana High School at 4:30 PM at the North Diamond is on as scheduled. The SHS Softball Round Robin with Effingham St. Anthony and Mulberry Grove on Saturday 3/26 has been cancelled due to anticipated cold temperatures.

SHS FCCLA students had a busy day today! Lasagnas for our fundraiser were prepared, and we also spent the day making treats for the Ties and Tiaras dance out on by Sullivan Dance Studio.


Congratulations to the SHS Rec PE Golden Sneaker Award Winners for February. Recipients were Shawn Eccles, Khushpreet Sian, Peyton Isaacs, and Riley Adams.





The SHS Varsity and JV Baseball games scheduled for today 3/18 at Altamont have been postponed to Thursday 4/14 at 4:30 PM in Altamont due to the weather.

Good luck to the SHS Scholastic Bowl team as they compete today in the IHSA State Scholastic Bowl Tournament at Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois! The team will play Illini Bluffs at 10:00 AM, Winnebago at 11:00 AM, and Urbana University at 1:00 PM. According to Conserve Energy Future, the most common littered objects include the following in descending order: fast food, paper, aluminium, glass, and plastic. It turns out someone would rather toss their burger wrapper and empty soda on the street than find a garbage can, and not surprisingly, this is mostly done on roadside and highways.
Here, NHS members volunteered time out of their day, after school, to pick up trash from Wyman Park and Tabor Park.


Mrs. McClellan works with Mrs. Badman’s Honors English III class during library time. Students are using the whiteboard tables to quietly discuss quotes from the OBOS book, The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise.

The SHS baseball team has worked hard during the off season. Gearing up for the spring season on Monday, they had a 3-team Wiffle ball tournament Saturday morning. Competition was tough, but Team Black came out victorious! ⚾️


The SHS Spring Sports Player-Parent meeting for baseball, softball, and track will be on Monday February 28th at 6:00 PM in the SHS gym.
