SHS is pleased to announce the schedule for the 1st Annual Redskin Christmas Shootout! On December 21, 2024 we will be hosting some powerhouse basketball programs from around the state, including SHS alumni, coaches Chet Reeder (Teutopolis) and Dylan Dudley (Alton)!
Make sure to come and check out some awesome basketball before Christmas!
Several SHS FCCLA members, along with students in Ms. Voegel's FCS classes and Coach T's PE classes spent Friday morning wrapping presents for National Guard families and helped prep food for the National Guard Christmas party this weekend. FCCLA members also helped work the event on Sunday and got to interact with many families during this holiday season! Members and FCS students helped at the inflatables, made crafts with kids, and prepped food in the kitchen, as a way of giving back to the community for our FCCLA day of giving.
According to disinfect.org, "There are between 2 to 10 million germs units on our fingertips and elbows at any given time.”
Several NHS members wiped down desks in classrooms and other surfaces around school as part of our monthly service. Thank you, Addison Brush, Emily Crosier, Madi Shonkwiler, and Lola Shonkwiler!

A huge home opener win for the HS Boys Basketball team today! They win 63-49 over Paris, thanks to a 35-point individual performance by senior Camden Watkins! Great job guys!

Thank you to everyone who donated blankets and towels to our NEHS and ELA Honor Society Blanket and Towel Drive! We were able to donate approximately 250 blankets and towels to 2 different animal shelters, a homeless shelter, and a domestic violence shelter. Your generosity is appreciated!
A big shoutout to our committee who worked hard to sort the blankets and towels and make the deliveries: Isabel Donovan, Logan Fleener, Johnny Iacobazzi, and Landon Jesse.
The HS Boys Basketball team takes on Stew-Stras Windsor tonight at 6:00 pm - game is located at Stew-Stras HS (between the towns on Route 32). If you can't make the game, it will be livestreamed on NFHS Network!
