The SHS Student Council had 3 students attend the National Vision Conference in Collinsville, IL June 25 thru 28. Senior Daniel Downs is the Illinois Association of Student Councils Public Relations Director, Junior Addison Brush is the Illinois Association of Student Councils Convention Secretary and local Vice President and Junior Katilyn Kirby is the Eastern Illinois District Association of Student Councils President and local President. The students met other council members from 31 different states and worked to better their leadership skills.

What a wonderful week we had at the 6th-8th grade basketball camp. Thank you to all the amazing young ladies who came out and worked hard this week. In addition, we would like to thank Elyce Knudsen for coming down and working on ball handling skills with our athletes. We had several award winners for most outstanding player in each grade level (Emma McCain, Elin Watkins, and Natalie Stinson). Congratulations to the Miami Heat (Lyla Wright, Macie Rodgers, Tenley Stollard, Emma McCain, Cali Szabo, Mikenzie Mercer, and Hailey Green) on winning the League championship. Great job to all these wonderful Lady Redskins on a fabulous week!

The 23-24 Show Choir season is ready to get underway with our parent/student meeting! Come and meet our new director, get measured for costumes and get all the info for the new season! The meeting will take place Monday, June 12th at 6pm in the high school gym. All parents and students need to attend. Measurements are needed by June 18th, so if you cannot attend for some reason please contact one of the board members to make arrangements to get measurements.
