Mark your calendars for all the SHS athletic events this fall! A couple big changes made recently:
- Cerro Gordo-Bement Football will not have a Varsity season due to their co-op with Arcola, so SHS will take a forfeit win Week 4 (9/19/25) and will have a bye week.
- No officials were available for the Varsity Football game at Cumberland Friday night Week 7, so our game will be played at noon (12:00 pm) on Saturday, October 11

SULLIVAN VOLLEYBALL CAMP – DAY 3 RECAP We wrapped up the final day of Sullivan High School Volleyball Camp with a focus on sharpening positional skills and building our final mental toughness tool—visualization. The girls brought focus and energy as we pushed through one last round of skill development. To end camp on a high note, we turned off the lights and lit up the court for a Glow-in-the-Dark 4-on-4 Tournament! Despite the glow sticks and black lights, the girls played some serious volleyball and had a blast doing it. 🏆 Tournament 1 Champs: Elin, Kylie, Callie, and Miracle 🏆 Tournament 2 Champs: Aeralyn, Lila, Avery, and Reagan These girls worked incredibly hard all week—growing as athletes, teammates, and competitors. We’re so proud of their progress and can’t wait to see them take the court this fall. Mark your calendars—this is a group you’ll want to come watch. Let’s pack the gym and support SHS Volleyball! #SullivanVolleyball #SHSVBCamp #GlowVolleyball #MentalToughness #OneTeam

Day 2 of SHS Volleyball Camp A little grit and growth today as we pushed through skill breakdowns, worked on game IQ, and continued building the mental toughness that is important to every aspect of sports and life. We wrapped up with a 4-on-4 tournament that brought the energy—quick plays, smart decisions, and competitive fire. After some intense matchups, our Champions of Champions title went to Nevaeh, Mae, Cali, and Tenley S. 🏐 #SHSVolleyball #Day2Done #CultureInTheMaking

Did you know that the Little Free Library on the Square was purchased by the Friends of Sullivan Athletics and Academics and is maintained monthly by the National English Honor Society? NEHS is proud to reorganize and restock the LFL each month with a variety of books as well as hygiene items and nonperishables. Though we don't hold a drive for donations to keep up with the monthly restock, we always gladly accept donations dropped off in the high school office. We are always in need of more hygiene items and nonperishables. Thanks to all who visit our LFL and help to maintain it by taking and leaving books📚

SHS FCCLA is proud to announce that Abagail Dean earned a silver medal in the Public Policy Advocate STAR event at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference held in Orlando from July 5th-July 9th. Her project "The Young Voters of America", focused on lowering the local election age to include 16 or 17 year olds. The 2025 National Leadership Conference welcomed over 10,000 students, educators, and guests from across the nation for a week of competition, leadership development, and career exploration. With over 4,300 students competing in 30 different STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) events, students had the opportunity to research topics and advocate for the implementation of projects for positive change. By turning dreams into realities, these young leaders face the future with the courage to make an impact in their local communities and beyond. Congrats, Abagail. We are proud of you!
