Members of the Band Program represented Sullivan on Saturday at the ILMEA All-District Festival at Eastern Illinois!

Junior high band members included Everett Finn (trumpet), Miriam Parri (trombone), Olivia Swinford (trumpet), and Sarah Windhorst (flute).

Our high school band member was Gavin Wade (alto saxophone).

Participants rehearsed for about 6 hours on Saturday and each group concluded with a 4-piece concert performance. The event was the culmination of a highly competitive audition and selection process from schools and students across Central Illinois. Each student had to prepare two required etudes and a sheet of scales that covered nearly the full range on their respective instruments. Auditions were scored by judges and the top scores from each instrument category were then selected to the Junior and Senior Bands.

Congratulations on an awesome performance and achievement!

SHS Girls Basketball Update: Due to our smaller numbers this year and an effort to keep our legs fresh, we have decided to play a "modified" JV schedule the remainder of this season.

This will likely look different each night based on the preferences of the other team - ex: 2 halves, shortened quarters, running clock, etc.

Regardless, plan accordingly and come earlier to watch the JV girls and catch the Varsity game!

Thanks to our students, families, and community members, we were able to donate over 200 blankets and towels to 4 different shelters in the area! This would not be possible without such an amazing and supportive community. A huge shout out to our NEHS committee members who sorted through everything and made the deliveries, pictured with about 1/4 of the donations: Kate Bushue, Drew Woolen, Landon Jesse, and Logan Fleener. Another thanks to ELA Honor Society members, Avery Florey and Miah Voegel, who helped as well (not pictured). NEHS and ELA Honor Society look forward collecting donations for our Drive next year!

Band Section of the Week honors this past week did not go to a specific section, but to a group of students who stepped up while Dr. Kinkley was out. Mason Miller, Tyler Blickensderfer, Sarah Windhorst, and Ruey Price led rehearsal for the Junior High Band and kept them on track in preparing for the upcoming Winter Concert on December 10th. Congrats!
