A huge congratulations to our very own Mae Dawkins, senior member of the National English Honor Society! Mae was recently informed that she is a national winner of the NEHS Intellectual Freedom Challenge, a prestigious competition that encourages NEHS members to craft compelling arguments defending texts that have faced challenges or bans. What makes this accomplishment especially impressive is that her essay was scored among some of the best submissions in the nation by university professors. Impressing evaluators of this caliber is no small feat, particularly for a high school student, and Mae did just that. Mae was awarded a certificate and a $150 prize. We are incredibly proud of her achievement and the excellence she represents in NEHS and our school.

Members of the 7th & 8th Grade Band performed with the HS Pep Band at the 2/5 Girls Basketball Home Game (v. Villa Grove) and the 2/10 Boys Basketball Home Game (v. St. Theresa) as a part of their Invite Night series.

Students had the opportunity to play full music sets with the Pep Band, sub in as drummers, and cheer on both Sullivan teams to victory!

The SHS Spring Sports Parent Meeting will be March 2nd at 6:00 pm in the HS/MS Commons. All parents/guardians of spring athletes are encouraged to attend

With the win over Blue Ridge on Senior Night, the Lady Redskins completed a perfect conference season to clinch the conference outright for a third year in a row. The seniors have gone 33-0 in conference play over the last 3 years. What a phenomenal legacy they are leaving behind. Thank you ladies for all of your hard work and dedication. We wish you all the very best in all your future endeavors. Go Lady Redskins.

IHSA Girls Basketball Regional matchups have been released! SHS Girls will host Vandalia next Saturday at 1:00 pm, with the winner heading to Teutopolis next week!

Junior Kaylee Smith interviewed to serve as the 2026-2027 Illinois Association of Student Councils 1st Vice President today at the IHSA headquarters in Bloomington. In March she will give a speech and campaign at the annual convention in Springfield.
