Sullivan Elementary awards "Gold Slips" to students who go above and beyond expectations. Following are the Gold Slip winners from the month of April (from left to right):Piper Conlin is always being kind to others and helping other people. She is the first to volunteer and not afraid to give up her time to help a peer. Nick Rubush politely jumped in to help clean a big mess in the lunchroom. Good job! What a great act of kindness. Ty Szabo helped another kid at recess. He was so kind and helpful. Ethan Smith has amazing manners. He's always ready to help others. Alex Fultz consistently follows and exceeds classroom expectations by exhibiting respect, listening attentively, and offering enthusiastic input to class discussions.

Mrs. Garrett’s 7th grade students and Mr. Campbell’s 4th grade class met in the Hub at SMS for science this week. Durning this time students collaborated to animate stop-motion videos to show their learning and creativity.

Mrs. VanDeursen and Mrs. Watkins’ classes enjoyed spoiling their mothers and grandmothers during a Mother’s Day celebration. They enjoyed a snack, a massage, getting their nails painted, and reading books that the students had written about their moms.

Reminder that the SEA track meet will be taking place this Thursday, May 9th, at 4 p.m. This year the event will include Kindergarten through 4th Grade. If the weather does not cooperate, notification that the meet is postponed will be sent out by 1:00 that day. In the case of postponement, the makeup date will be Thursday, May 23rd.
