This week we celebrated our AMAZING school counselors! We are blessed with the best and grateful for all they do for our students, teachers, and families! Thank you Mrs. Collins, Ms. Taylor, and Mrs. Alva!

Sullivan hosted the Scholastic Bowl Quad Meet on Thursday, 1/29 and JV logged two more wins to their 7-1 season record. The team held the lead over Bement 210-180 and defeated Cerro Gordo 180-120. Kent Lehman, Ronin Woods, and Bear Bryant led with 8, 5, and 4 toss ups respectively, with Levi Risley adding 1.
Varsity had an impressive victory over Bement with a score of 320-120. In a tight first half against Cerro Gordo, Sullivan took the lead for the second half and finished 270-180. Grant Martin led with 9 toss ups, followed by Claire Kursell and Alex Fultz with 5 each. Gavin Wade also contributed 3, Gavin Finn had 2, and David Eaton had 1. The teams play next week in Arthur on February 5th.

Mrs. Becker's class always loves their monthly lesson with Mrs. Wiley and Mrs. Collins. This month, they learned about perseverance! They made card towers to see who could work together and make the tallest one! Students didn't give up and had a great time.

SHS scholastic bowl teams competed in Argenta– Oreana last night. Varsity and JV both won a match against Argenta- Oreana and fell to Blue Ridge.
On varsity, Claire Kursell led the evening with 8 tossups, Alex Fultz with 5, Grant Martin with 4, Gavin Wade with 3, and Gavin Finn with 1. Their record is currently 2–3 for the season.
On JV, Kent Lehman led with 7 tossups, followed by Ronin Woods with 5, David Eaton with 2, and Bear Bryant and Levi Risley both adding 1. JV moves on with a 3–1 record for the season.
Both teams will compete at Tri-County next Thursday, January 22.
Mrs. Becker's class had a great time making the phases of the moon with Oreos!

Wednesday, January 7th the NED Show is coming to SES.
NED's Resiliency Ride, is a character education program that centers around three important messages that have lifelong relevance: Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best. During the assembly, students will learn about the importance of these three life skills while also enjoying storytelling, magic, humor and yo-yo tricks.

Mrs. Becker and Mrs. Voegel's classes teamed up to make some Christmas fun. Mrs. Becker's class got to design a gnome and Mrs. Voegel's class made them! They were so excited to see them !!

Mrs. McCain and Miss Basham's class is stepping into the world of The One and Only Ivan! Students rotated through fun themed food stations and watched the movie! All while celebrating the story we’ve been reading together.

SES Preschool had the opportunity to take a trip to our local Kirby Foods. Both AM & PM classes were able to get a behind the scenes tour; checking out the loading dock, box crusher and the walk-in refrigerator. A big thank you to Pat Stinson for allowing the kids this experience!






Mrs. Becker's class loved their library lesson. Both stories were about imaginary friends and the students got to draw their own imaginary friends!

SES LOVED seeing Frozen Jr. at the Little Theatre on the Square! A huge thank you to the PTO for providing the tickets to our school!!

🎃👻 What a spooktacular day in Miss Basham’s class!
We started off by getting a visit from the PTO Snack Cart for the very first time. Thank you so much to our amazing PTO and to Nora Weaver for winning our class a special trip from the snack cart! 🍿🧃
Next, we made some fun and festive ghost drinks and wrapped up the day (literally!) with a mummy wrapping competition! 🧻😂
So much laughter and creativity! We loved all the Halloween fun in 3rd grade! 🧡






Buster the Bus made a stop at the preschool playground. Mr. Landrus talked to the students about bus safety and the different parts of the bus.
