The SHS JV and Varsity Girls Basketball games scheduled for tonight at Meridian have been postponed to Wednesday March 3rd at 6:00 PM at Meridian. The SHS Freshman Boys Basketball game scheduled for tonight against Central A&M has been postponed. Make up date TBD. The SHS Scholastic Bowl contest at Meridian scheduled for tonight has also been postponed. Make up date TBD.
Due to extreme temperatures and inclement weather, there will be no practices tomorrow, Monday, February 15. A decision on athletic contests will be made tomorrow. Additionally, school buildings will be closed tomorrow but instruction will be given via our scheduled Remote and Blended Learning Day. The current forecast for Tuesday is indicating extremely low temperatures and 6-10 inches of snow. An announcement will be made by 5pm tomorrow about whether Tuesday will also be a Remote and Blended Learning Day, but expect this to be the case if the forecast remains similar
Tonight’s SHS Boys Basketball games at Stewardson Strasburg can be live streamed off their Facebook page at Stew-Stras Schools. The games can also be found on their NFHS page at S-S since no visiting fans are allowed.

The following are some updates concerning tonight's SHS JV and Varsity Boys Basketball games at Central A&M High School in Moweaqua starting at 6:00 PM:
1. Visiting spectators for the JV game are asked to park in the parking lot of Pine Street between the football field and the school. Entry will then be through the south door facing the parking lot and admission will begin at 5:45 PM. A reminder that each JV rostered player is allowed 1 spectator provided they have one of our JV Boys Basketball tickets to present to the Central A&M staff that we gave out at the beginning of the season.
2. Visiting spectators for the Varsity contest are asked to park in front of the school along Pine street. Entry will then be through the front doors of the school (facing Pine street). Doors will open once the gym has been cleared and sanitized after the JV game. A reminder that each Varsity rostered player is allowed 1 spectator provided they have one of our Varsity boys basketball spectator tickets to present to the Central A&M staff that we gave out at the beginning of the season.

SHS Freshmen, JV and Varsity Boys Basketball competes at Stewardson Strasburg High School in Stewardson starting at 4:00 PM tomorrow February 13th. No visiting fans will be allowed but the game can be livestreamed on the NFHS network by looking up Stewardson-Strasburg High School in Illinois as well as through their Facebook page at Stew-Stras Schools.
SHS JV and Varsity Boys Basketball are at Central A&M High School in Moweaqua starting at 6:00 PM tonight. Visiting spectators will be limited to one person per rostered player that has a ticket per game level. Individuals that received a JV Boys Basketball ticket from us at the beginning of the season must show their ticket to the Central A&M staff prior to being admitted into the contest starting at 5:45 PM. Individuals that received a Varsity boys basketball ticket from us at the beginning of the season will do the same once they are admitted at the start of the varsity contest. The game can also be livestreamed on the NFHS network by looking up Central A&M High School in Illinois.
Due to the uncertainty of the season because of COVID-19, there has been a change in when Senior Nights will be conducted this winter sports season. SHS Boys Basketball and SHS Basketball Cheer will have their senior night on Friday February 19th. In the event a change has to occur, the alternative date will be Tuesday March 9th. SHS Girls Basketball will have their senior night on Monday February 22nd. In the event a change has to occur, the alternative date will be Thursday March 11th. Additional details on these events will be released soon. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we navigate this current sports season.

The Lady Redskins fall to Paris 39-50 going to 2-1 on the season; they will play next a Shelbyville on Monday

In the JV contest, the Lady Redskins were defeated by a score of 36-43 to Paris. Spectator admission for those with tickets for the varsity contest will begin after the gym is cleared and sanitized.
