
5th graders teamed up with Mr. Roger’s 8th graders to learn about the parts of a frog while the 8th graders studied for their upcoming test! Such a fun experience!

Sullivan Middle School will hold its annual Award Program Wednesday morning at 9:15 in the SMS gym. We will recognize our 8th graders along with several other clubs and organizations and presenting a few awards for the year. Parents are welcome to attend.

The Sullivan Middle School Track team was recognized for their accomplishments this morning. Alec Keller and Natalie Turnbaugh earned the Joe Marks awards for their respective teams. #OneTribe

Sullivan Middle School will continue collecting student iPads on Tuesday. Students who turned in their iPads today but did not have their charger may turn their charger in tomorrow to avoid being charged to replace it.

In Mrs. Wade's 8th Gr Algebra the final project is to create a picture using functions studied this year. Each picture represents at least 20 equations, 6 types of functions, and a lot of hard work!

SMS recognized 9 students at their Breakfast of Champions on Wednesday, May 16th. Students were recognized for their academics and positive behavior inside and outside of the classroom. Those recognized were Riley Adams, Tori Turnbaugh, Lilly Null, Paul Bates, Sammantha Montague, Lane Richardson, Ben Bushue, Lara Herschberger, and Alexis Simmons.

SMS took nine students to Six Flags last Thursday to reward them for their hard work this year. Ten students earned the privilege by having perfect attendance, no discipline referrals and making honor roll for the year. The ten students who achieved this were Draven Bolin, Sienna Casteel, Joann Mathias, Alaina Moore, Madaline Probus, Hannah Righter, Chloe Smith, Alexis Swaim, Luke Waelde and Braden Wilson. Special thanks to the Sullivan McDonalds for donating breakfast to the students on our way out of town, and to the Lee Robinson Charitable Fund for the grant money to pay for the trip.


Several SMS teachers decided to take advantage of the wonderful weather on Friday by having a "No Tech" day of instruction at Wyman Park.

Mrs. Hendry brought her 4th graders to check out the worms the 8th graders dissected. They had a worm compost in their room all year. It also helped the 8th graders prepare for their quiz.

8th Graders at Sullivan Middle School had a great time today at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield.


Garrett’s and Rogers science classes took advantage of the sun today! 7th grade students tested radiant energy. 6th graders took plant pictures for a Picollage project.

To celebrate Earth Day, 5th grade students in Ms. Heddins’ class spent their afternoon picking up trash at the park! Students couldn’t believe how much they found in just a small area of the park! #earthday2018
