🥘 🛻 Food Truck Project Feast 🛻 🍱
Students in 6th grade STEM class have been working as entrepreneurs on a Food Truck Project. Students had to design their own food truck, come up with a business plan, a menu, logo, slogans, advertisements, etc. Check out some samples of parts of their projects!
Today, they were able to bring in a sample item from their menu to share with their classmates. Let’s just say, we may not need to eat lunch!

SMS Dress Up Days
Mrs. Ray, Mrs. Dickens, Mrs. Miller, and Mr. Webb enjoyed a tour of the recently expanded Moultrie County History Center today! Through our partnership with the folks at the History Center, Sullivan Schools will be able to share with our students an in-depth look at the history of the place we all call home!
The Center will feature unique permanent and rotating exhibits and research opportunities that will bring to life the local history of topics students are learning about in the classroom, including: Native American history, agricultural history, the history of education, war, law, literature, and the arts!
Stay tuned for more as the Center continues to prepare their facility for our students and community!
Congratulations to the Sullivan MS Redskins who defeated Paxton-Buckley-Loda 8-4! They are moving on to face ALAH in the Regional Championship on Monday 9/19 at 4:30 in Sullivan!

SMS Cross Country team competed at the Cerro Gordo/Bement Invitational last night. The girls team finished in 1st place with a score of 29 points. Aaliyah Osborn (2nd) and Julia Moody (3rd) both earned medals for finishing in the top five. The boys team finished in 2nd place with 52 points. David Eaton earned a medal for coming in 3rd place overall. Way to go!

6th grade STEM students are starting off the year with “tower challenges” - first up: Pipe Cleaner Tower Challenge. Students were given 20 pipe cleaners and 15 minutes to build the tallest tower. Here’s what they came up with:
SMS BASEBALL (8/11): LOCATION CHANGE. There is a change in location for this afternoon's SMS Baseball game vs Neoga. The game will now be played at Wyman Park in Sullivan, IL at 4:30 PM.
MS Softball: We have added a game to our 2022-23 season. The game will be played against Pana MS at 4:30 PM on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Tanner Park in Pana, IL.
Tribe Trek '22 wrapped up today with a trip to Victory Field in Indianapolis to watch the Indians defeat the Louisville Bats. Thank you to the Friends of Sullivan Athletics and Academics, Sullivan Middle School Student Council, Sullivan Rotary Club, and the staff of Sullivan Schools for making these trips possible. Wanted to give a big shout out to the Sullivan Middle School Volleyball team! They had a great turnout at the Millikin Volleyball camp! Way to go girls!
SMS girls basketball will be holding an open gym on Monday 7/11 from 6:00-7:00 PM in the SES gym for any 6th-8th grade girls interested in participating.
