SHS Scheduling Updates For Tonight 8/26: 1. Due to the heat, the SHS Cross Country meet will start at 5:30 PM this evening at Tabor Park. 2. The SHS Golf match this evening at Moweaqua Golf Course at 4:00 PM is a varsity boys golf match only. There will not be a JV boys or Girls Golf match played this evening.

On Friday 8/27, we want to see you in your Redskin Spirit wear. The SHS Retrospect yearbook staff will have a photo booth set up in the Singers’s Room doorway to take pictures before school and during lunch.

Shs Varsity Boys golf got 4th place out of 14 at the Champaign Centennial Invite. Will Haegen got 4th individually, Brett Bushue 9th and Del Diepholz 15th.

SHS and SMS Fall Sports Preview Night is tomorrow August 20th. It will begin at 5:00 PM with a scrimmage of our SOV Football team. Once that concludes around 5:45 PM, we will begin introducing team members of the following sports/activities: SOV Football, SOV Football Cheer, SHS Marching Band and Color Guard, SHS Cross Country, SHS Boys and Girls Golf, SOV Girls Swimming, SMS Baseball, SMS Softball, SMS Cross Country. Preview Night will then conclude with the SHS Volleyball team being introduced and practicing in the high school gym. When indoors for the SHS Volleyball team introductions and practice, masks will be required for all spectators per the Governor's mask mandate.

The 2021-22 SHS Retrospect yearbook is now on sale at Jostens.com for $45. Purchase now before our Back-to-School sale ends. The 2020-21 book will be available late Fall 2021. The SHS Fall Sports Player-Parent meeting scheduled for Monday August 9th for interested participants in high school football, football cheer, golf, volleyball, cross country, and girls swimming has been cancelled. Information that would have been distributed at this meeting has been provided to the coaches in these respective sports to give to their participants on the first day of practice. Please be sure to ask your child for this so that you are aware of our various sports policies and requirements that will need to be met. Also, just a reminder that prior to the beginning of your sport's practices next week, an individual must have a current sports physical on file with the high school office in order to be able to participate.

The Pride of the Tribe Marching Band finished Day 3 of camp by completing their pregame sequence as well as a Ninja tournament (shout out to Skyla Palmer for winning). You can see the PTMB on August 20th at the Fall Sports Preview at 5 pm!

Leadership Team for the “Pride of the Tribe” Marching Band met today at a cool out to discuss camp procedures which starts next week. Topics discussed included camp theme days as well as strategies to work on teaching their peers. The Sullivan Band Camp is completely run by the leadership team from August 2nd-5th. The members of the leadership team include: Haley Caulfield, Color Guard Coach Beau Fleming, Drum Major Raimi Gardner, Woodwind Section Leader Natalie Squires, Brass Section Leader Hayden Nodine, Percussion Section Leader We will present the work from camp at the Fall Sports Preview on Friday, August 20th! #WithPride
