The SHS baseball team has worked hard during the off season. Gearing up for the spring season on Monday, they had a 3-team Wiffle ball tournament Saturday morning. Competition was tough, but Team Black came out victorious! ⚾️

The SHS Spring Sports Player-Parent meeting for baseball, softball, and track will be on Monday February 28th at 6:00 PM in the SHS gym.

Good luck to Ethan Schmohe as he competes on Friday 2/25 at the IHSA State Swimming Meet in Westmont, Illinois in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Yard Backstroke events. The state meet will also be live-streamed on the NFHS network.

SHS FCCLA is making frozen lasagnas! These homemade, family size lasagnas are $20 a piece and are on sale until March 11, with pick up on March 22 from 3:45-5:00 pm. See any FCCLA member or email Mrs. Barnes at barnesa@sullivan.k12.il.us to purchase! Thank you for your support!

Congratulations to the SOV Boys Swimming team on finishing in 6th place out of 21 teams in the IHSA Boys Swimming Sectional yesterday with 59 total points! This is a tremendous accomplishment considering SOV only had 3 individuals compete! Ethan Schmohe qualified for two events next week at the IHSA State Swimming meet finishing in 2nd place in the 50 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Backstroke. Other notable results included Matthew Wesselman taking 3rd place in the 500 Yard Freestyle and Isaac Chambers taking 7th place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. #onetribe!

Individuals wishing to attend the IHSA Swimming Sectional on Saturday 2/19 at Champaign Centennial High School must purchase their tickets via the GoFan app at https://gofan.co/app/school/IL15271 In addition, spectators must wear a mask but no longer need to provide proof of vaccination nor a negative COVID test upon entry.

The NHS Pork Chop Dinner is on as scheduled from 5-7pm tonight. Tickets are available at the door until sold out, and meals are available as dine in or carry out. Thanks for supporting NHS.

The SHS JV and Varsity Boys Basketball games scheduled for tonight 2/18 vs. Tuscola as a part of Senior Night are ON as scheduled. The JV game will begin at 6:00 PM. At halftime of the JV game, the Bucks and Bulls Future Redskins teams will scrimmage. In between the JV and Varsity contest, Senior Night introductions of Boys Basketball players and Basketball Cheerleaders will occur. Those individuals and their parents/guardians need to be at the high school no later than 6:30 PM this evening. NHS will also be having their Pork Chop Dinner from 5:00-7:00 PM tonight in the SHS Commons for $10.00. Dine-in and carry-out options are available!

Tonight's SHS JV and Varsity Boys Basketball games at Maroa-Forsyth begin with the JV contest at 5:30 PM followed by the varsity contest.

The SHS Varsity Boys Basketball game today 2/12/22 in the CIC/NTC Shootout against Brownstown-St. Elmo is at 11:30 AM at Central A&M High School in Moweaqua.

Senior Night for High School Boys Basketball and Winter Cheer is Friday February 18th. Senior athletes and their parents/guardians in boys basketball and winter cheerleading need to meet Mr. Aikman in the SHS lobby by no later than 6:30 PM. The recognition ceremonies will then begin immediately after the conclusion of the JV Boys Basketball contest.

The SHS Varsity Boys Basketball game vs. Brownstown St. Elmo on Saturday 2/12/22 will be played at Central A&M High School in Moweaqua at 11:30 AM.

SHS JV and Varsity Girls Basketball hosts St. Teresa High School at 6:00 PM in the SHS gym as a part of High School Girls Basketball and Swimming Senior Night. Senior athletes and their parents/guardians in girls basketball and swimming need to meet Mr. Aikman in the SHS lobby by no later than 6:30 PM. The recognition ceremonies will then begin immediately after the conclusion of the JV Girls Basketball contest. The JV contest will also consist of two 12 minute running clock halves so anticipated start time of the Varsity contest is 7:00 PM.
