Did you know that the Little Free Library on the Square was purchased by the Friends of Sullivan Athletics and Academics and is maintained monthly by the National English Honor Society? NEHS is proud to reorganize and restock the LFL each month with a variety of books as well as hygiene items and nonperishables. Though we don't hold a drive for donations to keep up with the monthly restock, we always gladly accept donations dropped off in the high school office. We are always in need of more hygiene items and nonperishables. Thanks to all who visit our LFL and help to maintain it by taking and leaving books📚

SHS FCCLA is proud to announce that Abagail Dean earned a silver medal in the Public Policy Advocate STAR event at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference held in Orlando from July 5th-July 9th. Her project "The Young Voters of America", focused on lowering the local election age to include 16 or 17 year olds. The 2025 National Leadership Conference welcomed over 10,000 students, educators, and guests from across the nation for a week of competition, leadership development, and career exploration. With over 4,300 students competing in 30 different STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) events, students had the opportunity to research topics and advocate for the implementation of projects for positive change. By turning dreams into realities, these young leaders face the future with the courage to make an impact in their local communities and beyond. Congrats, Abagail. We are proud of you!

Due to the Heat Advisory in place Wednesday, we have decided to push back the start time of our Youth Football Camps. The K-4th Camp will run from 6:30-7:30pm, and the 5th-8th Camp will run from 7:30-8:45pm. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes with anyone's schedule, but we feel this will give us the best chance to get a full camp in with both age groups. Thank you!

Reminder that the Sullivan Redskins Youth Football Camp will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week! It is not too late if you did not turn in a form yet. Just bring it with you on the first day of camp. This is a non-padded, non-contact camp, so the kids will just need athletic clothes, a water bottle, and football gloves and cleats if they have them. See everyone tomorrow night!

🎉 Illini Volleyball Comes to Sullivan! 🏐🧡💙 (2 of 2) Today our Sullivan volleyball program had the incredible opportunity to work directly with University of Illinois Head Coach Chris Tamas and Assistant Coach Eli Sharping, along with their grad assistant Will, for a full-day training camp right here in our gym. Coach Chris Tamas has led the Illini to NCAA tournament success, including a Final Four appearance, and brings a wealth of tactical knowledge and passion for the game. Coach Eli Sharping is known for his detail-oriented approach, helping build high-level athletes with his focus on game strategy, skill execution, and player development. We were also joined by two of Illinois’ 6’4” middle blockers: • Kayla Burbage, graduate student and veteran leader from Missouri • Ashlyn Philpott, sophomore standout and rising defensive force These collegiate athletes gave our players a first-hand look at the speed, precision, and leadership it takes to compete at the Big Ten level. The girls spent the day learning new techniques, refining skills, diving into game strategy, and participating in live gameplay while being coached directly by the Illini staff and players. We even wrapped up with some great team pictures and an invite to come watch the Illini play in Champaign this fall! 💯 100% attendance from our high school volleyball athletes made today a huge success—and the energy and effort were outstanding across the board. We are beyond grateful to our local business sponsors, whose generous donations made this camp possible: 🏅 Sullivan Volleyball Sponsors: • Bruder Tank Company • Performance Concrete Coatings • Lakewood Cottages at Lake Shelbyville • Central Roofing LLC • Metro Communications • Second Chance Gym • Kaskaskia Animal Valley Hospital • Neal Tire • Clayton Custom Apparel • Oakwood Apothecary Thank you for investing in our program and helping bring experiences like this to our athletes. The future is bright for Sullivan Volleyball! #SullivanVolleyball #IlliniCamp2025 #GrowTheGame #BigTenSkillsSmallTownPride

Our JV and Fresh/Soph girls volleyball teams had a strong showing last night in scrimmages against Windsor/Stew-Stras and Mattoon. Both groups played with focus, grit, and composure—making some big plays and showing real growth on the court. It’s clear this group has a lot of potential. The level of effort, communication, and competitive mindset we saw is a great sign for the future of Sullivan Volleyball. Thank you to Windsor/Stew-Stras and Mattoon for the great competition. We’re proud of how our younger teams represented our program last night!
