Day 2 of Sullivan Littles Volleyball Camp was another great day for our future Sullivan Redskins volleyball players!
Today, the girls continued working on passing with partners and already showed huge improvement from Day 1. We also introduced setting and talked about how setters help run an offense and create scoring opportunities. The campers learned more about the rules of volleyball and even got to play some six-on-six, putting together several impressive rallies already!
We loved the loud communication, encouragement, and teamwork these girls are showing. They are already learning what it means to be team first, “we over me” players.

Wednesday is Decision Day! The ceremony will begin at approximately 9am in the high school gym.

Schedule Change: Due to the anticipated continual rainfall throughout the day plus dropping temperatures, we have made the decision to cancel the Redskin Track Invitational this evening.
Due to the IHSA Sectional meet next week, the girls portion of the meet will not be rescheduled. The boys portion of the meet will be rescheduled to Tuesday next week in place of the previously scheduled home quad meet

Day 1 of Volleyball Littles Camp is in the books, and we are off to a great start!
We are so excited to begin teaching the game of volleyball to the next generation of Sullivan Redskins players. From 3rd grade all the way through high school, our program is built on being connected, and today was a perfect example of that. We had several high school players and a few junior high athletes join us to help teach, encourage, and lead our younger players.
Today, our Littles started learning the fundamentals of passing—moving their feet, controlling their platform, and working together. We also introduced serving and talked about how volleyball can be a challenging and sometimes tricky game to learn—but it is also incredibly fun.
One of our biggest messages today: when something doesn’t click right away, we keep trying. Growth happens with effort, attitude, and repetition.
Overall, it was a great first day for our Sullivan Redskins Littles, and we can’t wait to get back in the gym for Day 2!
The one and only Redskin Invitational Track meet is going on today at home! Come out and see some great athletes across the area compete!

Our NEHS pen pal group had such a great time meeting up with Miss Dickens, Mrs. Hendry, Mrs. Kirk, and their students! After writing letters back and forth since January, it was so special to finally connect in person. NEHS has partnered with these teachers for several years now, and this annual pen pal meet-up continues to be one of the most anticipated events of the year! 📝

Sullivan School District is once again providing a free summer meal program for our students, but we are extending to other communities as well. If you live outside of Sullivan School District and your school district does not participate in the free summer meal program, you are welcome to participate here in Sullivan. This program is available for children 18 and under. For those who live outside our district, meals will be available for pick up on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3-5:30 weekly beginning May 26. If you would like to participate, please fill out the link below. Please complete the following form no later than Friday, May 15. We encourage ALL families to take advantage of this wonderful free program. Free Summer Meal Pickup Option
The Spring Band Concert is tomorrow at 6 PM in the Sullivan Middle School Gymnasium. The concert is titled "Evening Escapes" and will feature the Sullivan Jazz Band, 6th Grade Band, 7th & 8th Grade Band, High School Band. Admission is free and open to the public. Come out and support our outstanding students!
