🍳 It’s been a busy and delicious month in Culinary! We’ve been having so much fun learning in the kitchen that we’ve fallen a little behind on sharing all our experiences! Here’s a look at what our culinary students have been cooking up. 🥓Culinary 1 has been learning new cooking methods and exploring how to season dishes with herbs and spices. Students put their skills to the test in a friendly Pork Cook-Off, made possible by a wonderful grant from the Illinois Pork Producers. Thank you for supporting our students! They continued exploring new ways to incorporate pork into meals during their breakfast unit, creating a new breakfast helper skillet meal. To top it all off, students stepped into the world of coffee and practiced their barista skills! ☕️ 🍪 Culinary 2 mastered the art of making the most amazing chocolate chip scones! They then dove into the world of food science, which continues to be a class favorite. Students experimented with pickled vegetables while learning how preserving produce can help reduce food waste. 🥒 🥣 Culinary 3 experimented with different biscuit recipes and techniques, comparing everything from boxed mixes to scratch-made ingredients. The results were delicious! Students also had a few days to prepare some of their favorite dishes, including s’mores bars, egg in a basket, and pasta fagioli soup. 😋 We’re so proud of how our students continue to grow, build confidence, and develop new skills in the kitchen every day! There’s always something new cooking in our culinary classes! ❤️👩‍🍳

Sullivan Volleyball closes out the 2026 season after a hard-fought three-set battle with St. Teresa in the opening round of regionals. 23-25 | 25-16 | 23-25 Our girls finish 21-13 for the season, earning back-to-back 20-win seasons for just the second time in program history! Proud of the fight, growth, and teamwork this season. Thank you to our players, coaches, families, and fans for a memorable year! ❤️🖤

A beautiful morning at Tabor Park for the IHSA Regional Cross Country race! Julia Moody led Sullivan with a 5th place finish overall and both the boys and girls teams advanced to the IHSA Sectional at Lake Land College next weekend!

🏐NEHS is proud to have cleaned up the gym after every regular-season home game for the second consecutive year. Through this ongoing commitment, NEHS has demonstrated pride in keeping our school clean and welcoming for everyone. Their continued willingness to help behind the scenes is a great example of service to our school community!

A strong season for Sullivan volleyball! ❤️🖤🏐 Fresh-Soph wrapped up their season Tuesday with a 25–2 record! They also brought home the Pana tournament championship without dropping a set. We’re proud of their hard work and growth this season! JV finished their season this week at 28–4, closing with a win over Okaw Valley, 25–9, 25–13! Their season also included a first-place finish at the Cerro Gordo JV tournament without dropping a set. A great season for this group! Varsity’s win over Okaw Valley, 25–17, 26–24, moved them to 21–12, adding another victory to back-to-back 20-win seasons! They head into regionals Monday against St. T at 6 p.m. Come cheer on the girls!

20 WINS. BACK-TO-BACK SEASONS! 🏐❤️🖤 What a night for Sullivan Volleyball! On a night dedicated to celebrating our lone senior, Mya Dyer, the Lady Redskins picked up win #20 with a 25-7, 25-15 victory over Villa Grove! For the second consecutive season, Sullivan has reached the 20-win mark — something that has only happened in back-to-back seasons one other time in program history! And how fitting that we reached that milestone on Senior Night. A big part of these past two seasons has been our senior libero, Mya Dyer. Mya has been a steady presence in our backcourt, taken on the challenges that come with playing one of the toughest positions on the floor, and helped lay the foundation for what this program is building. Her contributions go far beyond one match or one season, and we are grateful she’s been part of this journey. The Lady Redskins finished the night with 17 kills and 11 aces, including one from our senior herself! Our JV and fresh-soph teams also picked up two-set victories to complete the program sweep! 20 wins. Two years in a row. A special Senior Night. And a senior who has been part of helping us get here. The SHS Student Council has had a busy few weeks! They started the year planning all the homecoming activities, then hosted a blood drive last Friday, and today they helped plan and host the EIDASC Fall Workshop. They continue to plan fun activities for the remainder of the year.
