Today's Athletic Events Scheduled:
SHS Girls Golf hosts Effingham St. Anthony in a dual at 4:00 at the Sullivan Country Club.
SMS Baseball travels to Charleston Middle School for a game beginning at 4:00. Team members need to be dismissed from class at 2:15 for a 2:30 bus.
Results From Last Night:
From SHS Volleyball: The Sullivan High School volleyball team was defeated by Okaw Valley last night 25-8, 25-12. Chloe Riley had two solo blocks, and three kills. Jessica Voyles added three kills to the match as well. Gwen Diepholz and Maddie Dickens had a good night in the back row each with 7 major digs. The Lady Redskins return to action this weekend at the Mattoon Invitational. The JV volleyball team was also defeated by Okaw Valley 25-11, 25-10 Carsyn Seeley had a great night on the floor setting, while Jerra Goad and Avery McGregor made a combined six kills at the net.
From SHS Cross Country: The Sullivan cross country team hosted Argenta-Oreana, Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond, Bement, Maroa-Forsyth, and Shelbyville last night at Tabor Park. Katherine Kite finished in 2nd place among the girls with a time of 23:25 while Isaiah Plank finished 3rd among the boys with a time of 18:43. Sullivan's boys team finished third overall at the meet while the girls did not have a team finish.
From SHS Girls Golf: The Lady Redskins golf team was in action at Clinton last night against St.Teresa. We didn't have one of our best nights as a whole, but were able to improve our record to 3-0. Addison Darush had a pretty good round and was medalist with a 45. We are in action tonight at home against Effingham at 4:00 at the Sullivan Country Club.
From SHS Boys Golf: The SHS Boys golf team went to Clinton Country Club Tuesday and shot a 171. Clinton had a 182 so that puts us at 6-0. Caden Ellis was medalist with a 32 (-3)! Leighton Burcham had a 45, Drew Rogers 47 and Leyton Ellis 47. This was the first time any of the golfers had been at this course so it was a great learning experience.
From SMS Softball: Shelbyville defeated Sullivan 20-4 and 10-7 last night. Sullivan will play Thursday at Findlay against Okaw Valley. Individual results were as follows: Morgan Wallace had 1 Hit, Mikaela Moore had 1 Hit and 1 RBI, Kinley Hill had 2 Hits; a 3B, and 1 HR along with 4 RBIs, Katie Honchell had 2 Hits; a 2B and 1 RBI, Abby Kirkwood had 2 Hits, Rylee Roehrs had 1 Hit, Alyssa Thompson had 1 Hit, and Bella Brownlee had 2 Hits and 1 RBI.
