Senior Natalee Hunter received 2nd place in the high school film division of the 2023 international Holocaust Art and Writing Contest held by Chapman University and The 1939 Society. Over 240 high schools from around the world participated in the contest which included high school and middle school divisions for art, film, poetry, and prose. Her film Quiet Resistance was based on Vladka Meed, a Holocaust survivor who was a Warsaw Ghetto fighter and member of the resistance. Hunter traveled to the Los Angeles area in March to receive her award with help from many generous community sponsors. Hunter was a finalist last year in this same contest with her film Brushstrokes of Resilience.
