On Saturday July 15th, SOV Football is hosting a 7-on-7 football competition on the football field and the high school practice field starting at 9:00 AM. The Sullivan Sports Boosters are in need of some volunteers to work the concession stand on that day. On Tuesday July 18th, a mandatory player and parent meeting will be held for all high school students interested in participating in SOV football this upcoming school year. The meeting will occur in the Sullivan Elementary School Gym and begin at 6:30 PM. At this meeting, numerous topics will be discussed and mandatory documents will be completed pertaining to concussion awareness, the code of conduct, and priority sheets among others. Please plan to attend. SOV Football practice officially begins on Monday August 7th.
On Wednesday July 19th, Decatur Memorial Hospital will be conducting sports physicals for middle and high school athletes at Sullivan High School from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. The cost of the physicals is $25.00 and cash or checks are accepted. If paying with a check, the check needs to be made out to Decatur Memorial Hospital. A Pre-Participation Physical Examination Form is available to download and print out at www.ihsa.org under the Resources tab so that you can bring it with you the day the sports physicals are being conducted for Decatur Memorial Hospital to fill out. Those individuals planning to come need to enter through the west side of the high school gymnasium located around the back of the high school. Lastly, please remember that in order for a student to participate in any extracurricular competitive sport (e.g. football, basketball, etc.) or activity (e.g. marching band, show choir, cheerleading, etc) they must have an up-to-date physical on file with the middle or high school office.
Of Note: These are sports physicals only and do not count for physicals for incoming 6th graders and 9th graders; those individuals will have to get physicals with their personal physicians. However, for those incoming 6th graders and 9th graders, their physicals with their personal physicians can count as sports physicals also as long as the physician conducting it documents it accordingly. Please make sure to talk to your personal physician about doing so.

The meeting will occur in the Sullivan High School Gym and begin at 6:30 PM. Like with the football meeting on July 18th, numerous topics will be discussed and mandatory documents will be completed pertaining to concussion awareness, the code of conduct, and priority sheets among others. Please plan to attend. Golf practice officially begins on Monday August 7th while Cross Country, Volleyball, and Girls Swimming officially begin on Wednesday August 9th.
