 Brad Tuttle, Superintendent

I would like to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to Sullivan Community Unit District #300.  For some of you, this will be your very first year here, for others, you have experienced many years being part of the Sullivan Redskin family.  Sullivan Schools are a special place with a long history and many great traditions.   Sullivan Community Unit School District #300 has been awarded the Red Apple Award six times in the past fifteen years.  The award criteria is determined by taking the overall scores in reading, math and science and the average ACT scores from each district in our central Illinois area. This data along with the districts per pupil spending with consideration on the percentage of the low-income students determine the winner of this award each year. Furthermore, our school district has been awarded the Bright Star Award for the twelve out of the last thirteen years.  The criteria is based on school districts whose students’ academic performance ranks in the upper one third of Illinois school districts, but whose expenditure per pupil ranks in the lower one-fourth of Illinois school districts.  Lastly, Sullivan High School earned a 2011 Academic Improvement Award for Exemplary Gains in Performance on the Illinois Learning Standards given by the State Superintendent of Education, Christopher Koch.

In addition to outstanding academics, Sullivan High School has had great success in athletics and the fine arts.  The level of cooperation among community, parents, staff and students creates a learning environment that helps build life-long learning. In addition, the administration and faculty of Sullivan High School are dedicated to preparing our students for their post-secondary lives through both academic and social maturity.

If you ever have any questions or seek more information, please give me a call or email me at, I would be more than happy to talk about Sullivan Community District #300.
