Today's Athletic Events:

SMS Softball competes in IESA Regional play against Urbana Middle School at 4:15. The game will be played at the softball diamond at Urbana High School.  Team members need to be dismissed from class at 1:45 for a 2:00 bus.

SMS Baseball competes at Effingham St. Anthony beginning at 4:30.  The game will be played at the Junior High Diamond at Effingham High School.  Team members need to be dismissed from class at 2:40 for a 2:55 bus.

Results From Yesterday:

From SHS Volleyball:  The Lady Redskins of Sullivan traveled to Teutopolis this evening.  They were defeated in two sets: 25-12, 25-17. Alaya Bolin had a great night at the net with 4 kills. Maddie Dickens did well in the back row with 19 service receive passes, and 9 digs.  The JV was also defeated in Teutopolis in two sets: 25-6, 25-9.  The ladies are still working on their consistent communication, aggressiveness, and confidence. Mallory Nichols had a good night in service receive with 12 passes and Erin Wallace earned her first Ace of the season.

From SHS Golf:  The SHS Boys golf team continues to be undefeated after playing Maroa-Forsyth/Warrensburg-Latham last night at Sullivan Country Club. Medalist was Caden Ellis with a 38. Drew Rogers had a 42, Leighton Burcham 46 and Aiden Short and Tim Lawyer tied with a 48. We shot a 174 as a team and MF/WL had a 193. We are now 8-0. 

From SHS Cross Country:  The Sullivan Cross Country team competed last night in a meet at Tuscola.  The boys team finished in 2nd place with Logan Pedigo finishing in fourth place to lead the boys.  The girls did not have a team place however Katherine Kite finished 2nd in the meet overall.

From SMS Baseball:  The SMS baseball team fell to Teutopolis 14-5. Jackson Matheson pitched five strong innings. Chase Eller, Tristan Ruppert, Zach Dalbey, Ben Bushue, Bryce Boyle, and Jake Stewart had hits. The boys' record stands at 7-6.

Other Announcements:

Sullivan High school students wanting to attend the Okaw Valley Homecoming Dance on Saturday September 9th need to sign up and pay their $5.00 fee in the high school office by Wednesday September 6th.  They also need to fill out a Guest Dance Permission Form if their guest is from another school besides Sullivan High School or Okaw Valley High School.  Contact the high school office for any additional questions.

From Tuesday September 5th through Friday September 8th, "Real Men Wear Pink" t-shirts will be available for purchase until sold out at Sullivan High School leading up to our "Real Men Wear Pink" home football game on Friday September 8th against Shelbyville High School.  T-shirts will be on sale for $10.00.  Cash or checks will be accepted as forms of payment.  If paying by check, please make the check out to HSHS St. Mary's Hospital Foundation.  Contact Marsha Kirby by phone at 217-728-8311 Ext. 1280 or by email at kirbym@sullivan.k12.il.us if interested in purchasing any items.
