Today's Athletic Events:

SHS Boys Varsity and JV golf hosts Maroa-Forsyth at the Sullivan Country Club at 4:00.

SHS Cross Country is in a cross country meet at Wimple Park in Tuscola at 4:30.

SMS Baseball hosts Teutopolis Junior High School in 1 game only beginning at 4:30 at Lane Field in Wyman Park.

SHS Volleyball travels to Teutopolis High School for a JV contest beginning at 6:00 followed by a varsity game after.

Results From This Weekend:

From SOV Football:  The SOV varsity football team lost its home opener against Cumberland High School this past Friday night by a score of 43-7.  The team is now 0-2 on the season and will host Shelbyville High School on Friday night as a part of Okaw Valley High School's homecoming.  The game will also be our "Real Men Wear Pink Night" as well.  The JV football contest scheduled last night with Cumberland was cancelled due to the weather.

From SHS Volleyball:   The SHS Varsity volleyball team played in the Mattoon High School invitational this past Saturday and finished 0-5 in tournament play. Throughout the tournament, the girls played hard, but are still in need of consistent game play.  Congratulations to Maddie Dickens on making the All-Tournament Team. 

From SHS Cross Country:  The SHS cross country team competed this past weekend in the Charleston High School Invitational.  The boys team finished in 10th place with Isaiah Plank leading the way in 31st place.  Katherine Kite finished in 52nd place in the invitational in the girls competition.

From SMS Baseball:  The SMS baseball team defeated LSA this past Saturday by a score of 16-0.  The team resumes action today, hosting Teutopolis Junior High School at 4:30 at Lane Field in Wyman Park.

From SMS Softball:  Sullivan split with Clinton this past Saturday, losing in the first game by a score of 10-5 while winning the second game 11-1.  Individual results were as follows:  Mikaela Moore-4 hits and 1 RBI, Kinley Hill- 4 hits, 1 triple and 4 RBI's, Caprice Smith- 3 hits and 1 RBI, Maddy Probus 1 hit, Rylee Roehrs- 1 hit, Sammy Montague- 1 hit, Alyssa Thompson- 3 hits and 1 RBI, Alaina Moore-1 hit and 1 RBI,Chloe Smith- 1 hit, and Bella Brownlee- 1 hit.  The team will compete tomorrow in IESA regional play against Urbana Middle School at Urbana High School at 4:15.

Other Announcements:

Sullivan High school students wanting to attend the Okaw Valley Homecoming Dance on Saturday September 9th need to sign up and pay their $5.00 fee in the high school office by Wednesday September 6th.  They also need to fill out a Guest Dance Permission Form if their guest is from another school besides Sullivan High School or Okaw Valley High School.  Contact the high school office for any additional questions.

From Tuesday September 5th through Friday September 8th, "Real Men Wear Pink" t-shirts will be available for purchase until sold out at Sullivan High School leading up to our "Real Men Wear Pink" home football game on Friday September 8th against Shelbyville High School.  T-shirts will be on sale for $10.00.  Cash or checks will be accepted as forms of payment.  If paying by check, please make the check out to HSHS St. Mary's Hospital Foundation.  Contact Marsha Kirby by phone at 217-728-8311 Ext. 1280 or by email at kirbym@sullivan.k12.il.us if interested in purchasing any items.
