2016-2017 School Calendar

The
2016-2017 school year is winding down! Every school district in Illinois is required to schedule a minimum of five emergency days to allow for make-up time in the case of weather-related school cancellations. Now that the significant threat of snow days has passed without needing any cancellations, the emergency days will be days of no student attendance. In an effort to keep everyone informed, we are providing a list of scheduled days off beginning with Spring Break. Because we didn’t use any emergency days this year, students will not attend school on Fridays after Spring Break.

Mon., April 10 –Friday, April 14– Spring Break
Fri., April 21 – Emergency Day – No student attendance
Fri., April 28 – Emergency Day – No student attendance
Fri., May 5 – Emergency Day – No student attendance
Fri., May 12 – Emergency Day – No student attendance
Fri., May 19 – Emergency Day – No student attendance
Sun., May 21 – Graduation(2:30 p.m.)
Thurs., May 25 – Last Day of Student Attendance
Fri., May 26 – Teachers Institute

Sullivan #18 of the Highest-Performing, High-Poverty Illinois School for the 2013-14 Academic Year

Each year, a handful of Illinois schools are recognized for their accomplishments by Illinois Honor Roll, a collaborative website run by Northern Illinois University and the Illinois State Board of Education.

One of the three award categories is Spotlight Schools, which are high-poverty, high-performing schools that are “beating the odds and overcoming the achievement gap,” according to ISBE.
